This Holiday Season, we’re asking you to stand with families and invest in a community-led housing movement rooted in dignity, long-term stability, and collective power.
By donating now, you help strengthen the South Bay Community Land Trust (SBCLT) and turn our community’s power into real solutions—solutions that combat displacement driven by corporate profiteering, preserve homegrown communities, and ensure that people can decide for themselves how their neighborhoods should grow.
We are already seeing what this looks like in action. The long-term residents of the 18-unit Virginia Avenue Apartments in East San Jose secured a major milestone when – together with SBCLT – they purchased their buildings in January, 2025. This victory marks SBCLT’s second community land trust home, following our first: the 4-unit Reed Street property in downtown San José.
Now, we need your support to keep this momentum strong.
Your gift helps us cover essential pre-rehabilitation costs, maintain stability for residents, and continue building a long-term, community-owned future, one where we take care of each other and families remain rooted in place.
Our goal is to raise $135,000 by December 31, 2025.
Your contribution, whether a one-time gift or a new monthly donation, during this critical moment will shape our community’s strength through the end of the year and into 2026.
Together, we can protect communities and ensure families have the power to shape their own neighborhoods for generations.
Thank you so much for being part of this movement!

With your donation to the People’s Preservation Fund, we will continue to decommodify housing so that it gets removed from the speculative market and residents can remain in their community.
